In October of 2005 a group of divers got together and decided to create a local club for divers. The purpose of the club was to bring divers together to enjoy fellowship and expand new opportunities for diving.

To date, the club is beginning to incorporate, we have elected a board of directors. Officers for the club are Dave Smith President, Tom Baer Vice President, Randy Henry Secretary, Byron (Big B) Wyant treasury, Kory Eicher board member, Rod Swope board member, and additional board members to be decided soon.

The club meets the first Wednesday of each month at Mike's Scuba at 7:00pm. If you are interested in joining us please call Kory at Mike's Scuba (814) 695-4666 to RSVP.

The name of our club, Westsylvania, actually comes from a movement in 1776 to create a new state. People in Western Pennsylvania decided that they wanted to create a new state because they were unhappy with their colonial government, so a movement to create a 14th state was petitioned and the name of that state would be Westsylvania.
